One of the #ShineCrew members went live and said something that stopped me in my tracks. She called the Shine Crew a movement. When you start something out of obedience and you are unsure of what you are doing, how to do it, and you truly have no idea what it will become, but you keep putting feet to your faith and showing up every weekday for a year to serve the people God assigned to you, you do not always realize what is being built. Then someone who has been watching from the very beginning names it out loud, and it hits you all at once.
She poured out her heart, shared her story, and what she said shook me deeply. She described me as a gracefully broken woman walking in her calling, being obedient to God, and now holding that light for others. She said I have been a light at the end of the tunnel for many. I was not ready for that. Not at all.
So let me say this to you, just start. Stop questioning yourself. It does not have to be perfect. You do not have to have it all together, because I did not. I was simply going live to be obedient. I was not trying to build anything. I showed up to serve the people, and God sent everything I needed. He sent the right people to surround me, cover me, and pray for me. He opened doors, and He is still opening them.
Everyone will not support you. Some will not understand you. Others will talk about how you are making a mistake. Take your direction from God. When I questioned how unqualified I was because I am not a Bible scholar or preacher, and I had not memorized countless scriptures, someone reminded me that I am here to fill a void. I was called to do it differently. I was created to deliver it differently, with joy, laughter, smiles, and shine.
Be yourself, fully and unapologetically. Your story will unlock someone else’s prison. Your gift will make room for you. God will place desires in your heart and fulfill them. He will cause your name to be mentioned in rooms you have never stepped into, and He will prepare a table for you right in the presence of those who doubted you. Those who counted you out will witness what obedience produces.
You did not rush the process. You trusted God in it. You served with humility and honor. Now it is your season. You can trust the next chapter because you know the Author.
